Payam Taghadossi

Taghadossi Payam, born on 26 July 1989 in Bregenz (AUSTRIA), began to play the cello at the age of four.

Payam has performed as a soloist accompanied by piano and various orchestras, chamber orchestras and ensembles.

Several times he has won first prizes at the Austrian Prima La Musica competition both on regional and national level.  Furthermore, he won the 2nd prize at the 2008 International Davidov Cello Competition in Kuldiga (LATVIA).

Since the autumn of 2006 he has been studying at the Zurich University of Music and Theatre with Thomas Grossenbacher and his assistant Christian Proske.

Payam has attended master classes with Detlef Mielke, Ivan Monighetti, Wenn-Sinn Yang, Rudolf Leopold, Reinhard Latzko, Wolfgang Boettcher, Arbo Valdma (piano chamber music) as well as Gerhard Mantel.

He is the cello soloist of the Dornbirn Youth Orchestra and the Collegium Instrumentale, both conducted by Guntram Simma.

Following an audition in October 2008, he was awarded a scholarship by the Mannheim PE promotion group. 

At the time being he plays an 1846 Gand Cello.
